Employment Matters and Administrators' Reports at Neillsville's School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters and heard the Administrators' Reports at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved the retirement of Alice Glinski effective August 29th. They approved the hiring of Amy Veltus as a food service employee, Desiree Garcia as a food service employee and Jean Langreck as a teaching assistant. They also approved the contract for Nicole Hangartner for a teaching position.

District Administrator John Gaier reported on a thank you note from the Friends of Sherwood Lake, the summer meal program, the Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance Newsletter, a Marshfield News-Herald article on bullying, a Journal Sentinel article on the governor's K-12 vetoes, an Education Commission article on special education reimbursement rates, a LaCrosse Tribune article about a voucher school lawsuit and an article on the Joint Finance Committee and the Wisconsin Retirement System.

He also mentioned three articles on proposed changes to open records laws, a School Law article on the use of test scores in teacher evaluations, two News Flash bulletins from Willis, a Madison.com article on ESEA, two Cap Times editorials on the state budget, a WIAA update on home-schooled students' participation in public school athletics, a Buelow Vetter Legal Update on the standards for union organization and the district's estimated general aid amount from the DPI.
