Committee Members for Connect Communities Program Approved at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council approved the members of the new committee, created under Economic Development, for the Connect Communities Program.The city was selected to be a part of the Connect Communities Program, being one of twenty selected in the entire state. At any given time there are only 40 cities in the two year program. After two years, a city needs to reapply to be a part of it again.
The program is sponsored by the WEDC and it offers resources and networking opportunities to local leaders interested in revitalizing down towns and urban commercial districts. There will be many skills and advantages gained by being a part of the program, but it will require time and effort on the volunteers' parts as well as the city.
The council approved the members at their meeting on Tuesday and a brief discussion was held on how this committee will handle budget items as they are a sub-committee of the city's Economic Development Commission.
