Several Items Approved at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board approved a handful of items at their meeting on Wednesday.The board approved an updated Activities Code Handbook, the Middle/High School Student Handbook, the 2015-16 Support Staff Handbook and the district's participation in the Federal Lunch Program. They also approved a $.10 increase in school lunch prices, the purchase of K-12 student and athletic insurance for 2015-16, the use of Gauger Ventures for resale of old equipment and the necessary budget transfers to complete the end of year.
The board also heard an update on the Building and Grounds. The Elementary parking lot replacement, handicap-accessible bathroom, select window replacements, and dry erase skins projects are all expected to begin during the final 2 weeks of July.
Finally, new equipment for the fitness center and irrigation/infield materials for the baseball field were approved from Fund 80 or the Community Fund, the capital purchase of a new school minivan was approved and the board heard 2015-16 budget news with initial estimate from the state being a 2.47% increase in General Aid.
