Local Farmers Selected for Wisconsin Dairy 30X20 Grants

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Another group of Wisconsin dairy producers will be getting some financial help from the state to help implement ways to boost milk production.On Thursday, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture announced 39 new recipients of the Grow Wisconsin Dairy 30x20 grants. This is the fourth round of funding since the program was first unveiled in early 2012.
As part of the program, applicants who have a written business plan can qualify to receive up to $5,000 to help increase profitability. The producer must match at least 20-percent of the overall cost of the expenses they are incurring.
Some local winners of the grant include Dean Bender of Dorchester, William Ciolkosz of Thorp and David Peasley of Black River Falls.
