Donations at Neillsville's City Council Meeting
Friday, July 17th, 2015 -- 9:07 AM
-The Neillsville City Council approved a couple donations at their meeting on Tuesday. The first was a total donation of $1,695 for the hanging flower baskets located in the city. That donation has paid for 36 of the 39 purchased. They also approved a $300 donation from the Rotary Club to be used for the Flower Garden in Sniteman Square.
The council also approved the beginning paper work to receive a 10 year extension on TIF District #2. The TIF District #2, or Tax Incremental District, needs to recoup 800,000 by the time it expires in the year 2022. If it doesn't do that, the city would be on the hook for the remainder of the amount.
Unfortunately, it looks like the district will not do that before the deadline. The city can file for a 10 year extension, giving them time to collect that money. The process will be handled by the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
