Marshfield United Way's "Run Over Hunger"

-On Saturday, July 11th, be a superhero and walk, run (or fly) to help "Run Over Hunger" at United Way's annual 5K event at Griese Park starting at 9:00 a.m.-The event will benefit the Nutrition On Weekends program which supplies supplemental weekend food packs to area children facing food insecurities in their home. In addition to the 5K, there will also be a half-mile kid's fun run.
The event is a themed race so be sure to wear your superhero gear. Awards will be given to the best dressed male and female superheroes. The 5K is a chip-timed event and awards will be given to top male and female finishers in six different age groups. Though the 5K is a timed event, individuals interested in walking are also encouraged to participate.
Registration for the 5K is currently available online and by mail. Registration will also be available the day of the event starting at 8:00 a.m. The cost to participate in the 5K is $25 until June 30th. After the 30th, the registration fee will be $30.
The fun run will begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration for the fun run will be on the day of the event only also starting at 8:00 a.m. The cost to participate is a donation of a non-perishable food item to the Nutrition On Weekends program.
