Owen City Council Hears CDA Report

The Owen City Council heard the CDA Report at their meeting last week.CDA Director Tim Swiggum said the Sperling Auction was held on Friday, June 19th. The building is now empty with just a few larger items that need to be picked up. It is now ready for the Parks & Rec. Committee to meet and decide what they want to do with the building.
The closing papers for Master Packaging and David Taylor have been received and are awaiting signature and payment. The concession stand is getting new siding and other improvements and should be done in time for the fair. The posters are out for the Car Show to be held August 15th. The last few Saturdays at the Farmers Markets have been rainy but a good amount of vendors and customers still show up.
Finally, he mentioned that A letter has been sent to local radio stations to advertise the battle of the bands in Owen on September 12th. The older banners that City once used are now hanging on Central Avenue. They are a bit worn but still look good and should last them a few years. The Woodland will not be open in time for the Owen Jr. Fair and Louks informed Swiggum that the bonds are in place.
