Owen City Council Approves the Public Library Director

-The Owen City Council approved the head librarian hire at their meeting last week.The minutes of the Owen Public Library Board from June 15 were presented to the council. On that day, the Board conducted two interviews and approved to hire Loralee Petersen as the new Owen Public Library Director after the retirement of Director Shirley Lehr.
Also, a letter was received from the Lublin Parks & Pavilion Committee inviting local municipal officials to attend a special celebratory dinner, for $15, along with dignitaries and religious clergy from Poland. The council approved to send those who would like to attend and Mayor Tom Nelson and City Clerk Terri Ernst responded that they would.
The council also approved a handful of liquor licenses and operator's permits at their meeting as well.
