Unemployment Rates Increased in Most Wisconsin Counties

-Unemployment rates increased in most Wisconsin counties and 31 of the state's 32 largest cities in May.The state Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures Wednesday. Unemployment rates increased in 41 out of 72 counties.
Clark County had an unemployment rate of 4.6% for May 2015. That was a slight increase from April's 4.4%, but a decrease from May of 2014's 5.6%. Clark County ranks 40th out of Wisconsin's 72 counties in terms of lowest unemployment rate.
For our neighboring counties, Chippewa is at 4.3%, Eau Claire is at 4.1%, Jackson is at 4.6%, 5.4% for Wood, 4.2% for Marathon and 4.2% for Taylor.
The local unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted and therefore not comparable to the state unemployment rate which was 4.6 percent in May. The national unemployment rate was 5.5 percent.
