Items Approved Regarding 4th of July and Heritage Days at Neillsville City Council Meeting

Wednesday, June 24th, 2015 -- 8:15 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved some minor items for the 4th of July Holiday and Heritage Days Event.

The council approved allowing the city employees to take their 4th of July Holiday on either Thursday, July 2nd or Friday July 3rd as the 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year. The council also approved extending the hours of Schuster Park for the Heritage Days Events going on the 2nd weekend of July. The council accepted the resignation of James Voss from the Tourism Committee and Neillsville Mayor Steve Mabie said he already had someone in mind to fill that position.

During the communications portion of the meeting, the purchase of Nicolet Bank by Unity Bank was mentioned, a thank you from the Clark County Aging Department to the city was read and the council heard an update about Memorial Medical Center. MMC has seen growth so far this year and their recent audit had better than expected results. As per the contract established between the city and hospital in regards to a loan provided, MMC will be providing a presentation on their finances at a council meeting soon.
