The Highgrounds Freedom Celebration June 27th

-Bring the family to The Highground Veterans Park on Saturday, June 27th for Freedom Celebration Day.There will be a full day of exciting events, displays, food by Hardee's, concerts and fireworks!
Throughout the afternoon, there will be a variety of music and dancing. Lao Hmong traditional dance & music will be presented on The Highground plaza from 4 pm - 5 pm. Featured artists will be Hmoob Kawm Txuj and Zong Lia Vang.
Celtic music will be performed by the MPK Christian Celtic Band from 5 pm -7 pm. MPK showcases a mix of Celtic songs, instrumental Scottish fiddle tunes and other aspects of Scottish culture. They perform toe tapping traditional Celtic fiddle tunes, highland dancing and original songs. The band is made up of seven family members, many of them award winning songwriters, Scottish fiddlers and guitarists. They hail from Central Wisconsin and have performed throughout the United States and also in Scotland.
The "Veterans Concert", with musicians who are military veterans, will begin at 7 pm on the plaza. Scheduled to appear are Lem Genovese, John McCue, Jim Fischer and a group of veteran musicians from the Tomah VA.
The Annual Highground Fireworks display, sponsored by Hardee's, will follow the concerts. This is one of the earliest and largest fireworks displays in the area. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. There is free admission to all displays, concerts & fireworks!
