Greenwood School Board Discusses WIAA Membership

-The Greenwood School Board discussed the WIAA membership at their meeting last week.Like all school districts, normal annual fees were waived this year so that districts could use this money for coach's education programs. However, it was mentioned that proposed home school participation legislation is a concern which is referring to an item in the state budget that would allow home schools kids to join public school sports programs.
Newly hired District Superintendent Todd Felhofer and High School Principal Todd Fischer will develop a 5-year rotation for curriculum work & textbook review. This summer will be used primarily for vocational courses, 2016- Math, 2017- probably Science with English/Lang Arts and Social Studies to follow.
The contracts with the district's present MS and HS Year Book publisher were signed and necessary budget transfers were approved as the 2014-15 fiscal year comes to a close. A draft 2015-16 budget was reviewed. This is a working document until the budget is set and tax levies are approved in October.
