Probable Cause Found During Preliminary Hearing of Jackson County Man Charged with Possession

Monday, June 22nd, 2015 -- 11:11 AM

-A Jackson County man made an appearance in Jackson County Court on Monday for drug charges.

On January 20th of this year, Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office were advised that Dale Laughlin had a valid warrant from Sauk County for his arrest. The Deputies attempted to locate Laughlin at his address in the Township of Albion. Deputies were granted entry to the residence where they located Laughlin and subsequently arrested him. Found on his person was a hypodermic needle, drug paraphernalia, and suspected Meth-amphetamine.

The Sheriff's Office continued the investigation and executed a search warrant on the residence. During the search, the investigators located more drugs, including suspected heroin, as well as drug paraphernalia that were consistent with intravenous drug use.

Laughlin has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of bail jumping. He has a $1,000 cash bond set against him. Probable cause was found during his preliminary hearing on Friday. He'll be back in court for an arraignment in July.
