Meeting Set for Vote on Approval of New Wisconsin State Patrol Contract
Saturday, June 20th, 2015 -- 6:22 AM
(AP) -A meeting has been set by legislative leaders to vote on approving a new contract for members of the Wisconsin State Patrol.Details of the deal were not included in the meeting notice released on Friday. A spokeswoman for Assembly Speaker Robin Vos had no comment, saying they were still getting information about the deal to review.
Messages left with the head of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Association, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and Gov. Scott Walker were not immediately returned.
Legislative leaders in March rejected a contract negotiated between the troopers and Walker's administration that would have raised troopers' salary by 17 percent on average, saying that was too high.
Trooper pay has not increased since June 2009.
The vote on the new proposal is set for Tuesday.
