Owen City Council Hears CDA Report

-The Owen City Council heard the CDA Report at their meeting on Tuesday of last week.CDA Director Tim Swiggum said the Dollar General paved their parking lot and they have also requested paperwork applying for a Class A Beer and Class A Wine license. Marcia DeLucca has also applied for a new Class B Beer and Class C Wine license. The City Attorney is working on the final closing to Master Packaging and David Taylor said the recorded maps have been received from the County.
Louks is in touch with promising messages. The DRC is working on the upcoming Car Show on August 15th. The Community Gardens are coming along nicely and the trees that died were replaced with new ones. Owen's Farmer's Market is now certified as well.
Finally, Mary Ellen Hughes asked to announce that the 100th Anniversary of the Owen Public Library and the Retirement of Librarian Director Shirley Lehr will be celebrated during the Owen Jr. Fair with a special events and ceremony on Saturday, July 11th. The actual Anniversary is July 29th. Council members and the public are encouraged to participate in the "100 Minutes of Reading" Event on July 11th. Each person would read for 1 minute.
