Stanley Woman Sentenced for Stealing from her Employer

-A Stanley woman was sentenced for stealing from her employer and its customers.According to the Stanley Police Department, the manager of the BP Gas Station in Stanley noticed an irregularity in the businesses deposits. Officers questioned Jeanne Williams, an employee of the store, and she admitted to them that she stole from the store and overcharged customers and kept the extra money. She said she initially did it because she had mounting doctor bills to pay, but she also said that she felt a rush when she stole. She stole nearly $50,000 in total.
Williams was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of theft of moveable property. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail and owes the courts $240.
