The Wisconsin Department of Corrections Donates to The Highground

-On Saturday May 9th, staff from four Wisconsin Department of Corrections prisons including Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility, Racine Correctional Institution/Sturtevant Transitional Facility and Racine Youthful Offender Correctional Facility as well as Regions 2 and 3 Probation and Parole challenged a new community partner, Milwaukee House of Correction to a chilly day of softball.This event wrapped up Corrections Employee Appreciation Week and was organized by the Workplace Enhancement Committees at each facility. The event this year raised the highest earnings to date, posting over $2000 which will divided amongst the individual teams charity of choice including HALO Homeless Shelter, Special Olympics, The Highground Veteran's Memorial Park, Milwaukee Foster Care and The Guest House.
The Highground thanks those listed above for the generous $275 donation! The Park continues to grow as history unfolds with the support of many contributors and organizations such as a softball game to help in the healing and the education for all.
