The $4M Highground Rising Campaign Launch celebration, held at The Condensery in Osseo announced the campaign has raised $834,374 in pledges and gifts since beginning soliciting prospective donors late last year.
The goals of the campaign will build a 12,000 square foot Welcome Center, complete ADA accessibility throughout the park, create new services and programs and pay off its $450,000 mortgage.
Area journalist Scott Schultz from The Heartbeat Center for Writing, Literacy and the Arts and Chris Pettis, Executive Director emceed the event for the 150 plus attendees and the 400 people who watched the live-streamed portion of the program.
A $400,000 donor challenge was announced from several major donors at the launch event. These donors are encouraging fellow Veterans and those who support Veterans causes to consider a tax deductible gift or a pledge that may be paid over five years.
A deadline of May 8 has been set to help secure the additional $400,000 in cash and pledges. Campaign leaders are excited about the momentum of the campaign, pleased with the results, and looking forward to continuing The Highground's mission to Honor, Educate and Heal.
