Owen City Council Approves a Bid and Hears Reports

-The Owen City Council approved a bid and heard a couple reports at their recent meeting.The council accepted the bid of $6,891 for improvements to Mill Pond Concession Stand. They also approved for Owen City Clerk Terri Ernst to take, for personal use, a filing rolling cart no longer used by the Police Department.
The council then approved the training report for those who attended the League of Wisconsin Municipalities 2015 Local Government 101 Workshop. Those in attendance were: Mayor Thomas Nelson, City Clerk Terri Ernst, Alderpersons John Mauel, Pam Jaffke, Kelly Knight and Melvyn Lorence.
Finally, the council heard the CDA Report. CDA Director Tim Swiggum said those interested in applying for jobs at the Dollar General can now go online to apply. Tim has been helping the Public Work's Department with mowing and watering flowers. The Woodland will be having the concrete steps redone. Mr. Mravik from Gilman is interested in Owen's Depot building in hopes that is restored and reopened. He has a hobby of model trains. And banners and signage are being looked into and getting prices.
