Parks and Recreation Update at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council heard a Parks and Recreation update at their meeting last week.Discussions took place regarding Ovyn Trucking leveling and grading the area from the volleyball pit to the ice rink with a bid up to $8,000, an Edblom Construction bid for concession stand improvements coming to $6,891 as well as their bid for the burned railroad bridge repair of $9,000, the Crowley Park bathroom shower discussion will hold off till next year, the horseshoes pits are still presently located behind the Mill Pond Bathroom building, the unique tree by Master Packaging will remain and Goose control was also discussed.
The council also approved to designate the City land between the Dollar General and Master Packaging following down the alley and all the way north to the Owen public Library as land for Park use and they approved to accept the bid of up to $8,000 from Ovyn Trucking to do leveling and grading of the Mill Pond park area for the Carnival.
The council also approved the written response letter to the DNR written by Erik Stinson Owen's Director of Public Works.
