Antique Appraiser Mark Moran Returning to the Neillsville Public Library This Saturday, Part 3

Thursday, May 28th, 2015 -- 12:22 PM

-Antique Appraiser Mark Moran will be at the Neillsville Public Library on Saturday, May 30th from 9am to Noon.

Mark has a list of items that he knows very well and would be happy to appraise for you, but he also has some items he doesn't know that well.

Mark said, "In the appraisal events, we can look at a wide variety of items including fine art, you know, paintings, prints and drawings. Ceramics, glassware, toys, I see a lot of wonderful old dolls and mechanical banks, for instance. Advertising, folk art, clocks. All of these items, by the way, all the accepted categories are listed on my website. That's markfmoran.com. F as in Francis. M-O-R-A-N.com. You can also see my endless calendar of travels all over the upper mid-west!"

"It also lists the categories I do not appraise. And that would include things like weapons. Guns, swords, knives, it's just not a language that I speak. Fine jewelery. Custom jewelery is okay, but fine jewelery, precious metals, diamonds, rubies and things like that, again, not one of my areas. Coins and currency. I also do not appraise any Nazi memorabilia and Beanie Babies. Beanie Babies, that was once a popular collecting area, but that market has pretty much gone away and it's one that I just don't know about that well."

You can check Mark's website to see the full list of items he can or cannot appraise. Once again, Mark will be at the Neillsville Public Library on Saturday, May 30th from 9am to Noon and the cost to have an item appraised is $15 with $5 going to the library.
