Unemployment Drops in Wisconsin's Counties and Biggest Cities

(AP) -Unemployment rates dropped in all Wisconsin counties and the 32 largest cities in April. The state Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures Wednesday.Clark County had an unemployment rate of 4.4% for the month of April. This is compared to 5.8% in March and 6.1% in April of 2014. Clark County ranks 41st out of Wisconsin's 72 counties.
For our surrounding counties, Chippewa had an unemployment rate of 4.5%, Eau Claire at 3.6%, Jackson at 4.6%, 5.3% for Wood, 3.9% for Marathon and 4.4% for Taylor.
The local unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted and therefore not comparable to the state unemployment rate which was 4.4 percent in April. The national unemployment rate was 5.4 percent.
