Several Items Approved During Public Works Portion of Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council approved a few items during the public works portion of the meeting and then approved them during the regular common council meeting.The first item approved was the bid for the city's sewer bar screen. The bids opened on May 19th with 5 people bidding and the top 3 were all within $2,400 of what had been estimated. The council approved a bid from a company in Fond Du Lac for $117,400 which was 16% below their estimate.
The council then approved the resignation of Todd Averill from his waste water/water operator position and they wished him the best. The final item approved, during the public works portion of the meeting, was recommending the Personnel Committee to begin filling the waste water/water operator position. The position will be offered to some other city employees first and then advertised to the general public later.
A quick Personnel Committee was held right after the Public Works Portion of the meeting and they approved filling the vacated position. The resignation, filling the vacated position and the bar screen bid were all approved during the regular common council meeting.
