Neillsville Woman Accused of Scamming Local Businesses Fails to Appear in Court

Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 -- 4:29 PM

-A Neillsville woman allegedly involved in several scams with local businesses and organizations did not appear at her court hearing on Wednesday.

Korinia Feight of Neillsville has been accused of scamming money from local businesses, churches and organizations in Neillsville, Granton, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and more. Feight has been charged in Clark County with 2 counts of misappropriation of I.D. information to obtain money, 3 counts of theft of moveable property and 3 counts of threats to injure.

She was scheduled to appear in Clark County Court Wednesday afternoon for a preliminary hearing, but her attorney stated the Feight contacted her around noon to let her know that she was in the Wausau area and was unable to get to Clark County. She also said she wasn't aware that she had a court date today as it has changed a few times. She continued saying that she is no longer living at her address in Neillsville and she doesn't always get the mail she still receives at that address sent to her.

Both the defense and assistant district attorney didn't believe a warrant was necessary by the ADA did leave that up to the discretion of the court. In the end, the judge set a court date for tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, which Feight said she could do, and he said that if she wasn't in court by 2:31 he would issue a warrant for her arrest.
