Neillsville City Council Approves Being Involved with County's Recreation Plan Update
Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 -- 8:15 AM
-The Neillsville City Council approved to be a part of Clark County's Recreation Plan Update. The county's plan expired in 2013 and includes various entities in the county including cities, schools, businesses and more. It's a good idea for the county to have this plan, and for the city to be involved, as it makes all the parties involved eligible for certain grants and gives them a better chance with others.
The city will have the Parks and Recreation Department and the Planning Commission involved with the process. The plan needs to be done by the end of the year and will take effect in 2016 and run through 2021. There could be a $2,500 cost to the city for being involved, but that will be determined when the process is complete.
The council also accepted a $400 donation from Jackson Electric Cooperative. An employee with the cooperative decided to donate $200 to the Recreation Department for the city and Jackson Electric matched that donation making a total of $400.
