Gay Marriage Boosted Marriage Numbers in 2014

(AP) -A state report shows the legalization of gay marriage last year boosted the number of couples tying the knot to the highest rate Wisconsin has reported since 2007.The Department of Health Services report found there were a total of 32,776 marriages performed in the state in 2014, an increase of 2,797 from the year before.
U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb last year ruled the state's ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional. More than 500 same-sex couples were married within a month of the decision.
The number of divorces also dropped from 15,941 in 2013 to 15,243 in 2014.
