Alley Abandoned, Land Conservation Fund Support from County Board
Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 -- 7:56 AM
The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution to discontinue a paved alley in Chili. The alley itself is located adjacent to County Highway Y in Chili. The Estate of Irene Schecklman asked the county to discontinue the alley. Wisconsin Statute requires the county to maintain an alley adjacent to a county road, but the estate would like to sell the property which is why they asked the county to abandon it.
The board also approved providing adequate resources to support county land conservation and cost-sharing for farmers and other land owners. This resolution is just asking the Wisconsin Legislators to restore funding to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection's Land Conservation Fund. The budget is currently around $8 million as opposed to the $9.3 million it averaged just a few years ago.
