Neillsville School Board Approves Lunch Price Increase

Thursday, May 21st, 2015 -- 10:49 AM

-The Neillsville School Board approved an increase of lunch prices.

The federal government mandates that all school districts calculate their lunch prices to try and match their reimbursement rate. When Neillsville did that this year, the found they need to increase their prices by $.5. A high school lunch will now cost $2.40 and an elementary lunch will cost $2.20.

The board also approved a $500 cost for the district's Wisconsin Rural Schools Alliance Membership. It was mentioned that the district was definitely getting their monies worth as the alliance does a lot for their district.

Finally, the board approved the WIAA membership. The plus side is that the cost is free this year and next as the WIAA decided at their recent Annual meeting to waive the fee for all school districts. This will be an $825 savings to the district.
