-The Owen City Council heard the CDA report at their recent meeting.CDA Director Tim Swiggum mentioned a recent Parks & Rec. meeting and that he would bring up the idea of weekly community events. He also talked to the Fair Board about that and they don't feel they can take on more events and don't know if they would have time and enough volunteers.
Owen's Farmers Market started last Saturday. An ad has been sent out for vendors for the Farmers Market and the Car Show. The workshop and planning session held in Loyal regarding their Farmers Market was mentioned which other communities were invited to in order to get ideas regarding their own markets.
Master Packaging dock has been moved and approved and Tim received good questions from Louks this week which were more detailed in nature. Community Gardens are going well and there is 1 garden remaining. Clark County has begun to write their outdoor recreation plan which will allow the City of Owen to apply for grants for parks and trails. And finally, Tim did some research on street signs, which are made at the Stanley prison.
