Owen City Council Hears DNR Report

-The Owen City Council heard a report from a DNR Enforcement Conference that several municipal employees attended.The council approved to move on with the next steps as outlined in the enforcement letter from the DNR. The Director of Public Works will write a written response to the DNR under the advisement of Mike Voss, MSA Professional. The council also approved the Certified Survey Map for the new survey for Master Packaging and David and Tracey Taylor. The surveyor costs are being split between the two.
The council also heard that on May 5th a personnel meeting was held with two Owen officers. Evaluations were discussed and corrections were taken care of. On May 11th, the Committee met to review approximately 20 resumes. Six resumes were chosen for interviews which will begin on Thursday, May 14th.
Finally, the council approved to charge the Panda Garden a one-time annual seller's fee of $20.00 and $5.00/day for electric use in the Park and to have the Ordinance Committee meet and change Ordinances 7-4-4 and 12-1-1. In 2014, the Panda Garden was paying $45 each Monday according to the revised 2012 City Code of Ordinances.
