-The Neillsville City Council heard the committee reports at their meeting last week. The Grants Committee met at City Hall on May 11th. First, the committee heard they have $68,720.03 on hand in loan funds. This is also the meeting that approved the housing loan for over $19,000 that was then approved during the council meeting, which I mentioned last week.
They also heard new state policies including increasing the threshold limit from $30,000 to $40,000, increasing the after-rehabilitation Fair Market Value of the property from no more than 100% to 120% and placing emergency applications before any other application.
It was also strongly suggested by the Chippewa County Housing Authority that some of their policies be accepted by communities who have Revolving Loan Funds. However, it was discussed the importance of the city maintaining its own housing authority.
