Greenwood School Board Supports Supplemental Compensation Point System

Tuesday, May 19th, 2015 -- 9:56 AM

-The Greenwood School Board supports a Supplemental Compensation Point System for their teachers. During an Executive Session at their meeting last week, the board supported the system and believes that this optional pay plan provides something for everyone trying to improve as instructional leaders.

How the system works is Each year staff members will have the option to earn an additional monetary stipend, or "supplemental pay" established by the board each year, by accumulating points. Staff members that choose to accumulate points will be responsible for completing the "OPTIONAL Point Documentation" worksheet. This will be reviewed by the administration during the end of year evaluation meetings with supplemental compensation paid out in late May or early June.

Some examples of items that can gain staff points include awards, graduate credits, presentations at in-service, grant writing, hosting a student teacher, volunteer programs, lead a project, communication materials and more. The points range from as low as 1 point per something to as high as 75.
