Jackson County Sheriff's Department Investigating Suspicious Death Near Black River Falls

-The Jackson County Sheriff's Department is investigating a death near Black River Falls.According to a press release from the department, on May 17th, just before 11am, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received an emergency 911 call regarding a single victim; unconscious and not responsive. The location of the emergency was at W10236 Vaudreuil Road in Black River Falls, which is known as the Dog Park, an open outdoor area; non-residence.
Sheriff's Office deputies and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. Once on scene, the deputy and EMS determined that the victim was deceased. Initial observation at the scene showed that the death is suspicious in nature. Additional resources were needed to assist with the investigation. The Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and the Wisconsin State Crime Lab.
This is an isolated incident and there is no public safety concern. Witnesses and other involved parties are being interviewed to determine what occurred. The identification of the victim is not being release at this time until proper verification and notification can occur. A forensic autopsy will be conducted this morning at the Dane County Morgue in Madison.
