Open Enrollment Discussed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting
Monday, May 18th, 2015 -- 8:14 AM
-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed open enrollment and teaching positions at their meeting last week. The board reviewed and approved twelve new open enrollment applications for students coming in to the District for the 2015-16 school year and four applications for students to attend other districts. Board approval of applications is required so that letters may be sent to applicants in early June indicating whether thy will be allowed to attend or not.
Also, District Administrator Bob Houts indicated to the Board that with the retirements of Jean Gokey and Linda Plautz, those two positions will be combined into one. Andree Brushaber will be reassigned to the half-time Special Ed, half-time Title I teacher and be assigned to the elementary school solely, rather than splitting between the junior high and the elementary. Cost savings of this change will be roughly $131,000.
