Neillsville Public Works Report
Saturday, May 16th, 2015 -- 7:27 AM
The Neillsville City Council heard the public works report at their meeting on Tuesday. The council heard about the usual amount of work done in the city including equipment maintenance, street sweeping, clean up, hauling brush, mowing, etc.
The north pavilion at Schuster Park has a new floor and raised posts to prevent deterioration. This was done due to the generous contribution from the Listeman Foundation.
Public Works Director Dave Flynn also mentioned that after a big rain they have to open and clean the storm drains and it takes two guys all day to do it. However, it wouldn't take as long if people didn't blow their grass onto the streets when they mow. Dave said it's a city ordinance that you are not allowed to do that and he asks that Neillsville residents stop doing it.
Dave, again, mentioned the bid for the bar screen project. He also mentioned that it looks like the project will not get started until October/November. They wanted it started by June/July, but unfortunately, Dave said the engineers dropped the ball on getting that project started.**
