-The Neillsville City Council approved a housing loan application that they received from the Grants Committee. The Grants Committee met on Monday to discuss the loan as well as several other topics. The loan in particular was for $19,320 for closing costs, roof, electrical, windows, gutters, door, soffit and fascia and basement stairs. This money comes from Neillsville's CDBG Housing Program. The loan met all the committee's criteria so it was approved and sent to the council and they approved it on Tuesday. Neillsville currently has 28 loans totaling $343,739.86 in outstanding receivables as of April 30th.
The council also approved the ordinance drafted by the city attorney making 8th Street from Grand Avenue to the Black River a snowmobile trail and all-terrain vehicle route. The council asked the city attorney to do this at their previous meeting and it was done because people would like to use ATV's to hall their compost to the dump.
