Loyal School Board Approves Several Items at Recent Meeting

-The Loyal School Board approved several items in preparation of the next school year and to finish the current school year.In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of 2 custodians, hired a new custodian and hired their summer recreation director and their summer bus chaperone. The board also approved their summer recreation fees which are the same as last year or $18 per child with a maximum of $36 per family.
The board approved their new lunch prices for next year, which are $.10 higher and approved changing their lunch accounts from families to individual for confidentiality reasons. The board will be bringing in a WASB representative in June to discuss strategic planning, they discussed ACT 32 energy efficiency possibilities and discussed a Safe Routes Plan grant the district is eligible for.
Finally, the board discussed an idea to reduce the number of school days in the future by extending their current days. They would do this in order to save money.
