68th Alice in Dairyland Crowned

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -A Sauk County woman has been crowned as Wisconsin's 68th Alice in Dairyland.Teyanna Loether from Sauk City was selected for the title Saturday night at the Franciscan Center for Music Education at Silver Lake College in Manitowoc during a finale program hosted by Manitowoc County. A new graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Loether holds a master's degree in animal sciences. She grew up on a dairy farm, where she showed horses, chickens and swine at the Sauk County Fair. She also served as the 2010 Fairest of the Fair. During graduate school, she worked as a teaching assistant and tutor and is working toward a Delta Certificate in Research, Teaching, and Learning.
Other finalists in the running during the competition were Kristin Klossner, New Glarus; Cassandra Mayer, Slinger; Stephanie Nagel, Valders; and Dormie Roberts, Burlington. Teyanna officially begins her duties as Alice on June 1. Until then, 67th Alice in Dairyland, Zooey Brooks will continue to make appearances at various events as her successor goes through a brief training process. Next year, the Alice in Dairyland finals will be held in Dodge County on May 5th-7th.
