Don't Forget, Saturday is Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Friday, May 8th, 2015 -- 8:17 AM
-The "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive is happening tomorrow, May 9th.Neillsville postmen Mark Cook said that all you have to do is leave some food by your mailbox and they'll pick it up. Mark stressed that non-perishable food items should be donated.
Two local food pantries will be supplied this year and, as Mark mentioned, one of them is the newly formed Clark County Area Food Pantry and Resource Center. They need help stocking their shelves. Volunteers will be helping the carriers take the food to the pantry and they'll also help organize the food onto the shelves.
Mark said the Neillsville always does really well and they usually collect 35,000-45,000 pounds of food. He said the community is always very generous with their donations and he's really proud of Neillsville's generosity. Mark also mentioned that if you won't be around on Saturday to donate, you can bring food to the post office and drop it off. They have a bin in their lobby.
