Security Health Plan Recognized as "Communities Champion"

-Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., has been recognized as a "Communities Champion" for its efforts to make Eau Claire County a healthier place to call home.Eau Claire's Healthy Communities coalition announced the awards during its recent "Annual Celebration" at Chippewa Valley Technical College. Healthy Communities promotes the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities of Eau Claire County through collaborative and focused action.
Programs Security Health Plan has supported in the Eau Claire area include Food as Medicine Planning Partnership, Healthy Communities Grant, "Drink Responsibly: What Does that Mean?", Health Literacy, "What to Do When Your Child Gets Sick" and Healthy Communities Mini-Grant "Mental Wellness: Increasing Mental Health Literacy of Hmong Elders."
Security Health Plan is the first recipient of a Communities Champion Award for organizations and was praised for consistently recognizing the many social, economic, behavioral and environmental factors that impact its members' health.
