Man Charged With Injuring a Police Officer in Black River Falls Has Charges Dismissed

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 -- 10:48 AM

-A man charged with battery to a law enforcement officer, after injuring a Black River Falls Police Officer, had the charges against him dismissed.

Back in March, the officer responded to the Hardees Restaurant in Black River Falls after a customer, 53-year-old Jimmie Linville, refused to leave the building at closing time. Linville kept stating that the Baraboo Police Department had taken everything from him.

After asking Linville to leave several times, Linville became aggressive and, while the officer tried to handcuff him, he pulled away and punched the officer in the head. Linville was subdued with pepper spray and taken into custody.

Linville had been charged with batter to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer. During a status conference on Monday of last week, Jackson County Assistant District Attorney Melissa Inlow moved to have the charges dismissed without prejudice and the court granted the request.
