Owen City Council Approves Purchase of Utility Inventory Software

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 -- 8:16 AM

-The Owen City Council approved purchasing Utility Inventory Software at their meeting last week.

The software is provided by Workhorse Software Services for $3,000 and $500/year for annual support. The program will bring all utility inventories into the program for easy record access and information required by the PSC Annually.

The council also accepted the resignation and retirement of employee Brad Gokey. Advertisements for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator have gone out to all the shoppers, the WRWA website, the WWOA website and will also be advertised in the OW-Enterprise, Wisconsin Jobs Online and the League of Wisconsin Municipalities.

A council member also presented a plan to enact the ordinance committee to review the ordinances for incorrectness and inconsistencies and bring them to the Council. City Clerk Terri Ernst recommended doing the ordinances that the city is aware of there being issues and getting those corrected first. However, the plan was tabled for the time being.

Finally, during the public opinion portion of the meeting, a citizen questioned the Council regarding the E. 4th Street Project, Lift Station #1 Project and Real Estate Taxes in his neighborhood for a vacant lot.
