Neillsville City Council Approves Extending ATV Route

Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 -- 7:05 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved extending an ATV Route in the city.

The council approved having the city attorney make an amendment to the city ordinance that would designate 8th Street from Grand Avenue to the Black River as an All-Terrain Vehicle Route.

This came as a request from several citizens to the Neillsville Police Chief because they wanted to use their ATV's to haul branches and other lawn and waste/debris to that area. However, the chief cannot legally tell anyone they can do that as it's not a designated route.

Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann discussed the idea with the Director of Public Works Dave Flynn and Conservation Warden Adam Hanna and neither had a problem or saw any issues with it. Hanna even suggested it be extended to the Black River so people can go and fish if they would like to.
