Friday, May 1st, 2015 -- 8:44 AM
-The Neillsville City Council approved an overage for the Neillsville Police Department to pay for the remainder of a software program. At the previous meeting, Chief Scott Klueckmann mentioned that he was applying for the Susteen Community Outreach Mobile Forensics Grant. It is a matching funds grant that will provide the Neillsville Police Department with software to download evidence data from cell phones, tablets and other electronic devices. The software costs $6,395 and the grant pays for $4,400 of that money. The remaining $1,995 has to come from the City of Neillsville in order to receive the final approval of the Neillsville Police Department getting the grant.
Chief Klueckmann asked for the council's approval to use money for that purpose. It was suggested that the council approve an overage for the Neillsville Police Department in order to pay for the grant and as the city gets closer to the end of the year, they'll find a line of the budget that has the funds available to pay for it. As the budget it doing well so far, it was decided that it was too early to move that money from other area of the budget.
