Neillsville City Council Approves Public Works Items

-The Neillsville City Council approved a couple project bids during the public works portion of the meeting and then approved them during the regular common council meeting right after.The first item approved was a bid for asphalt. The city received a bid of $70.20 per ton from American Asphalt with the city needing 700 tons and the total coming to $49,140.
The second item approved was the 18th Street Lift Station project. The project will consist of piping upgrades to the wet well as the current piping is beyond repair and leaking in several areas. The city received two bids, one from Sabel Mechanic of Fond du Lac for $13,143.40 and the other from Staab Construction for $21,715. The city chose the lower bid from Sabel Mechanic to do the project.
Also, to begin the public works portion of the meeting, Jerry Quicker was selected as the new Public Works Chair and former Chair Darren Horn is no longer serving on the council.
