Meetings and Contracts Disucssed at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed special meetings as well as contract negotiations during their meeting last week.The board decided not to have a special meeting in April. It was decided that the re-elected school board members can take their oaths of office individually and the reorganization of the board can take place at the May meeting. Also, board member Rick Eloranta volunteered, and was unanimously approved, as the board representative for the CESA 10 Annual Meeting. The board also unanimously approved changing the start time of the May meeting to 5:30 PM to accommodate those who would like to attend the Jr/Sr High Band concert.
The board discussed and approved the renewal of the 66.03.10 agreement with Abbotsford to share the services of Frankie Soto as the district's Food Service Director. The Board also agreed to postpone any kind of talk on negotiations of Teacher and Support Staff until the 2015-16 state budget is clearer. Talk of any kind of settlement would be premature given the proposed budget and the suggested changes.
Finally, the board presented Dee Wells with an engraved school bell to recognize her as she leaves the Owen-Withee School Board. The board and administration wish to thank Dee for her years of service and commitment to providing a high quality, cost efficient education to the students of Owen-Withee.
