Less Than Two Weeks to Enroll in Health Insurance Marketplace

-Wisconsin residents have less than two weeks remaining to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace and avoid additional tax penalties when they file their income tax return next year.According to a press release from Security Health Plan, the special enrollment period for individuals and families who have no insurance coverage and paid a tax penalty this year, will end April 30. For most people this will be their final opportunity to purchase health insurance coverage for 2015. Anyone enrolling will have coverage effective June 1, 2015.
The federal penalty for not having insurance will triple this year, up to a maximum of $975 for a family.
Since enrollment began in October 2013, more than 30,000 Wisconsinites have purchased Security Health Plan individual and family coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
