A Thorp woman charged with child abuse in Clark and Wood Counties failed to reach a deal here in Clark County during a hearing on Thursday.Amber Abramczak is facing child abuse charges here in Clark County after a doctor found fractured bones in her child's arm, leg and foot. Abramczak told authorities that she had become upset with the infant and pressed and squeezed her limbs very hard. She pleaded not guilty by insanity last month.
She's also facing similar charges in Wood County after a doctor at St. Joseph's Hospital saw her force a bottle into her child's mouth, tearing the skin between the child's lip and front teeth. After the child was admitted to the hospital, doctors discovered the broken bones in the arm and leg were done before the hospital visit and the broken bones in the foot occurred while the child was there.
Abramczak was scheduled for a plea hearing on Thursday, but the District Attorney and Defense Attorney were unable to reach a deal. Abramczak will now have a motion hearing on April 7th, where the defense will try to suppress her statements.
