Neillsville City Council Approves Room Tax Distribution

-The Neillsville City Council approved the distribution of 70% of the funds collected from the Room Tax.The distribution was decided on by the Tourism Committee at a meeting held on April 8th. The committee had $16,328.19 available for distribution. $1,500 was granted to the 1897 Clark County Jail Museum for telephone, internet and website services as well as advertising projects.
$1,200 was granted to the Neillsville Heritage Days Committee for costs associated with the staging of the Vic Ferrari Band on July 11th. 40% of the room tax money, which came to $23,114.19, was granted to the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce.
Finally, $3,000 and $1,382.51 was granted to the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce for a year-long marketing campaign in Central Wisconsin TravelHost Magazine and the Autumn Harvest Celebration in October. The Common Council gave the final go ahead at their meeting on Tuesday.
