17-Year-Old Involved in Stabbing Incident Near Neillsville Charged in Clark County Court

-The 17-year-old involved in the stabbing near Neillsville early Wednesday morning has been charged for the incident.According to the Clark County Sheriff's Department, the incident happened early Wednesday morning at N1754 State Highway 95 in the Town of Levis.
The incident began when 17-year-old Matthew Gebhardt's sister and the 27-year-old victim stopped at the home to say good-bye before they left on a trip. Gebhardt told his sister to have a shot with him and said, if she did, she could punch him in the face. They took the shot, she punched him, but they hugged and said there were no hard feelings.
However, Gebhardt's girlfriend became upset that his sister had punched him, so she got into a fight with the girl. At this point, the 27-year-old got involved and he pushed Gebhardt out of the way. Gebhardt claimed the man put his hand on his neck and he couldn't breath. He then drew out a pocket knife and stabbed the 27-year-old in the neck 3 times.
The 27-year-old was taken to the hospital and Gebhardt was arrested. He appeared in court on Thursday and was charged with 1st degree attempted homicide. A $500,000 cash bond was set against him and he'll be back in court in a couple weeks.
